We want you to feel welcome when you arrive at 3rd Street Flats—but we also want to respect your privacy and your space. If you arrive before 6:00 pm, stop in at Wednesday Wines to pick up the key to your Flat, and then head upstairs where you will find a complimentary bottle of wine waiting for you to enjoy. We’ve paired this fabulous wine with Honest Chocolates, locally produced just across the street. As you sit down to enjoy this wonderful start to your travels, look up and notice that all the art on the walls are original pieces from local artists. So relax—you’ve arrived—sit back and savor the flavors of McMinnville. (Arrivals after 6:00 pm will be able to pick up their key in a lock box at 3rd Street Flats).
And if you like a little direction before you set out to see the sites on your own, we’ve got that covered too. Each Flat has its own copy of a guide book covering the Willamette Valley for your use during your stay, as well as our own Guide to Historic McMinnville, featuring a local’s perspective on the best food, wine, shopping and entertainment. With so many places to dine and drink, we’ll point you in the right direction.
A brief history lesson…
Third Street Flats, housed in the second story of the historic McMinnville Bank Building, opened its doors to guests in 2010. Originally built in 1885, the Italinate style building has been home to a variety of businesses and institutions over the years, including the McMinnville Business College, physicians and surgeon’s offices, a butcher shop, and most famously a bank.
The second story of the McMinnville Bank Building is comprised of four apartments, which were renovated and brought up to modern standards in the 1990s. The apartments feature vaulted ceilings, and views of life on 3rd Street below. Eco-friendly cosmetic renovations in 2010, including bamboo floors, recycled countertops and 100% New Zealand Wool carpets, prepared the apartments to take on new life as nightly apartment rentals.
